It's hard to write on days like this. My brain can't seem to process the simplest things, and forgets how to do things I've been doing for years. For instance, yesterday I tried to crochet with a knitting needle. I mean, COME ON!
People will say "getting old sucks," but this has been happening to me since my mid 20s. In late 1983 I had a sudden collapse full of worrisome symptoms that pointed to mono, MS, lupus, RA and more. But none of the above were detected and I was written off as a hypochondriac.
...until 1998, when I had what I thought was a spider bite on my side that turned into a huge bullseye rash.
I don't want to bang on about Lyme disease, mainly I want to state clearly that my brain fog is NOT from being 69 years old. One of the scariest things happened when I was 28. I had visitors and I kept forgetting they were there, sitting nearby. This is an adult life-long issue.
As much as I want to work on my current WIP (working title "Washed Up"), I know better than to try to write because I'll get confused and discouraged. But there are admin and technical things I can do until I'm ready to write again. I will not let this defeat me.
